I love my mom to death.
She's the type of mother who is very accepting. When I say she is accepting, I mean it.
Last summer, for my birthday, she flew my new boyfriend into Chicago from DC, as a
surprise. And when I was dating a girl for over a year, she was cool with that too. I
think that me going to college probably brings her more happiness than anything else. I'm
the first person in our family to go to college, and I'm doing quite well.
When I think of what my
mom has done for me, I recall the many times she sacrificed her own dreams to help me
accomplish my own. I hope that someday I will be able to do the same for her. It's strange
for me to write this, because I don't think I've ever said this to her.
Now, I do admit that my mom and I have had our "blowouts,"
but for the most part, we get along well.
